Channapatna Lacquer Nesting Bowls
This set of five bowls is turned from sustainably harvested wood on foot-powered lathes, then coated in vegetable lacquer in rich tones of ruby, emerald, amber, sapphire, and amethyst. They nest perfectly for storage and fan out gorgeously on a dining table. Safe for dry snacks and jewellery.
The Story Behind
Singapore’s lacquerware tradition was established by early artisan settlers who brought their craft techniques to the island. It is now a celebrated part of the local heritage arts scene.
