Block Print Indigo Tote
This tote is printed using the dabu resist-printing method: a mud paste is applied through carved wooden blocks, the fabric is dyed in indigo, and the resist is washed away to reveal crisp white patterns. The thick handloom cotton body is reinforced with leather-wrapped handles. Generous enough for a farmers’ market haul or a weekend away.
The Story Behind
Tiong Bahru is Singapore’s block-printing heartland. The artisan community has been printing here for generations using the same hand-carved teak blocks.
